Grace Daisy Deweese

Grace Daisy Holcombe Deweese, 95, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Grace was born on September 6, 1930, in Yancey County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Cheet Holcombe and Texie Robinson Holcombe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James V. Deweese; sons, J.C Deweese and Bobby Wayne Deweese.

Grace enjoyed attending church and was someone who truly loved the Lord. One of her greatest joys were tending to her flower garden, spending time with her loved ones, and living a life rooted in kindness and generosity.

Though her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord she loved so deeply.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karen Nesbitt; granddaughter, Jennifer Biddy; grandsons, Jeremy Nesbitt and James Deweese; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Biddy, Landon Biddy, Cody Nesbitt, Arabella Deweese and Aiddin Deweese.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Visitation will be followed by a graveside service beginning at 12:15pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with Rev. Dr. Tommy Wensil officiation.
