Gertrude Gail Mihealsick

Gertrude Gail Mihealsick, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, in Mooresville, North Carolina. She was born on February 1, 1930, in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Throughout her life, Gertrude exemplified the qualities of a devoted Christian woman and a loving matriarch.

Gertrude dedicated her life to her family as a housewife, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her proudest accomplishment was celebrating 62 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John Mihealsick, who predeceased her. Together, they nurtured a loving family that flourished under her care. Gertrude is survived by her sons, John Charles Mihealsick and his wife Marie, Timothy Lee Mihealsick, and her daughter Deborah Culberton and her husband Edwin. She also leaves behind her son-in-law Michael Goodnight, along with nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

In addition to her dedication to her family, Gertrude cherished her hobbies and interests, which included nurturing her plants, engaging with technology, solving puzzles, and immersing herself in the pages of books. She also had a special bond with her cat, Amber, who provided her companionship and comfort.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband John, her daughter Rebecca Mihealsick, and nine siblings who each held a special place in her heart. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her nurturing spirit, and the love she so freely gave to those around her.

Her legacy continues through her loving family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 4:00pm.
