Geneva "Bill" Y. Peeler

Geneva “Bill” Peeler 99, passed away peacefully after a brief decline in health, just shy of her 100th birthday. Having lived a long, full, and remarkable life, she will be lovingly remembered and celebrated by her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dr. Greg Sloop. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Terry (Stacey) Barnhardt; two grandchildren, Brittney Barnhardt and Tommy (Lindsey) Barnhardt; three great-grandsons, Landon, Dalton, and Bryson Barnhardt; two sisters, Carolyn Gantt and Wanda Shaver; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas Barnhardt and Billy Barnhardt; one grandson, Bradley Barnhardt; and seven siblings.

Bill dedicated more than 42 years of service to Cannon Mills before retiring in 1992. She was a strong, hardworking, and independent woman who devoted her life to her family. She found great joy in raising her children and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Bill also had a passion for quilting and enjoyed the fellowship of her Quilting Club. She loved traveling with Christian Tours and creating lasting memories along the way.
