Fred F. Burchett Sr., 93, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Glen Kiser Hospice House. He was born May 29, 1931, to the late Roby and Rhoda (Combs) Burchett. Fred was the last remaining member of his family to pass, all his siblings preceded him in death.
Fred loved his children and grandchildren most in life. He enjoyed being anywhere with his family from being outdoors or just reminiscing of old times. Fred was a good dad and good husband who loved his Lord. He was full of life. He was a tough bird and would not go down without a fight. He will be truly missed.
Those to cherish his memories include his children, Fred Jr. and wife Barbara, Vicky Burchette, Rebecca “Becky” Burchette and Joseph Burchett and fiancé Suzanne; his grandchildren, Deona Burchett Bell (Rodney), Amanda Burchett, Ashley Burgess (Chris), Matthew Burchett and Nicholas Coates (Natalie); 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; his step children, Cindy, Pam, Wayne and Danny and all their families; and so many numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Dorothy Weaver Burchett and Martha Drye; son, Matthew Ryan; daughter, Dana Burchett Griffith; granddaughter, April Denise; great grandson, Conley Mark Hoffner; siblings, Dewey, Charlie, Maire, Denver, Junior, Aline, Burine and Ivy Dean; stepson, Barry Drye.
Fred’s family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, for time of visitation, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM in Whitley’s Chapel with Lead Pastor Gary Posey officiating. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
