Frank was born July 28, 1961, in Brooklyn NY, a son of the late Frank J. Russo Jr. and Mrs. Joan Russo of Kannapolis. In addition to his father, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Russo.
In addition to his mother, Joan, Frank is survived by his 2 children, Cheryl R. McCombs (Andrew) of Kingwood TX and Frank J. Russo IV (fiancé Deressa Prater) of Kannapolis, his sister, Barbara R. Zubowski (Robert) of Saddle River, NJ, his brother, Anthony Russo (Angela) of Cornelius, his sister Anne Marie Russo of Concord and his grandchildren; Berkeley, Hayes and Amelia McCombs, and Roslynn Russo. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Michelle White.
Frank was a huge family man. There was nothing he loved more in life than to have all of his family and friends over for Sunday dinner. He enjoyed cooking at home, music, puttering around the house, his two dogs, Cello and Cola, and his cat, Catbernet. Being a “Pop Pop” was his everything. Church was also a passion for Frank. He was a member of Connect Christian Church in Concord, spending many Sunday’s cooking hotdogs, burgers, and breakfast for the members. He also met with the Men’s Group on Saturday mornings for fellowship and food. To know Frank was a privilege. He always had a smile on his face, an infectious laugh and spoke in his own language. Frank lived his life to serve others and if he wasn’t at the church grilling hot dogs, you could find him relaxing by his pool with a cigar and glass of wine.
