Faynell Frieze Frye, 94, of Kannapolis (Enochville Community) passed on September 19, 2026, from Atrium Health Cabarrus after an unexpected illness. 

A memorial service to celebrate Faynell’s life will be held at St. Enoch Lutheran Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with Rev. Dale Cline officiating. Her family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the celebration of life service.

Faynell was born September 21, 1931, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Marvin C. and Reba Crowe Frieze. In addition to her parents, Faynell was preceded in death by her first husband, William “Dewey” Frye, her sister, Loualice Marshall, her brother, Wayne Frieze, and her second husband, Ronald Brammell.

 Faynell was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis and a graduate of Landis High School. She was a longtime member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church. In earlier years, Faynell worked for Raymond James & Associates as a registered financial representative. She loved water skiing, baking, and traveling, and danced every day. 

Those who remain and cherish her memory include her daughter, Robbie F. Powell (Mike) of Kannapolis, her son, Keith Frye (Donna) of Stanley, and her step-daughters, Beth Fuller of Coatesville, PA, Susan Brammell of Falls Church, VA, and Khrista Helfer (Ross) of Cornelius. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julie Morgan (Adam), Heather Stocks, Katelan Frye, Lindsay Rho (Danny), Morgan Gustafson (Ian), Tiffany Frye (Kevin), Sydney Helfer, her great-grandchildren, Rachel Armbruster (Zach), Kristen Sanders (Daniel), Parker Whitmire (Nadia), Juliette Rho, Elodie Rho, Isla Gustafson, and great-great grandson, Lumiere Hudson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Sinclair, her sister-in-law, Sue Frieze, and her best friend, Louise Shive.
