F. Brandon Barrier

January 10, 1961 — June 24, 2022

Kannapolis

F. “Brandon” Barrier, 61, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday June 24, 2022 at the Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health.

He was born January 10, 1961 in Cabarrus County, N.C. a son of Frank and Penny Weddington Barrier.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at New Gilead Reformed Church conducted by Rev. Lawrence Bolick and Dr. Donald Gray. Internment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Brandon graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 1979. He worked for Duke Power for 21 years in Charlotte, and for UPS in Kannapolis where he retired following 27 years of service. He also was employed by Shaw of Charlotte and CB&I of Charlotte.

He was a track star at NW Cabarrus, participating in Low and High Hurdles and was State Champion several years.  He coached Dixie Youth Little League and took many teams to state finals. He had lots of fun in the hotels with the boys and parents.

Brandon was a hardworking man of few words. A NASCAR enthusiast, a Dale Earnhardt fan, and a UNC fanatic. He was of lover of old black and white western movies, and the Three Stooges.

Brandon was a constant prankster, always hiding behind corners ready to jump out and scare an unsuspecting soul. He was quick to tell a bad joke or give a random movie quote. Every Christmas he was just as surprised as you were at the perfect present he gifted you.

Brandon loved his family and his children and great grandchildren. He loved spending time eating lunch with his parents , brother and his family and with his family. We are asking for everyone to wear Dale Earnhardt colors or shirts, UNC colors in t shirts and jeans. Brandon was a very simple man.

Brandon was a cat lover and the love of his life was Alex, that he had taught high five and howdy.

Brandon retired in January 2016 due to declining health. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Wheless, Dr. Matthew Myers and all of the Hospice teams and Medicine Shoppe.
