Evelyn Colleen Graham

Evelyn Colleen Goforth Cook Graham, 92, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Vickie.

Colleen, as she was known by friends and family, was born June 13, 1932 in Cabarrus county to the late William Clegg Goforth, and Grace Selma DeMarcus Goforth.

Colleen graduated from Cannon High School in 1951, She was an inspector at Cannon Mills for many years before her retirement. She also babysat for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and great nieces as they came along. She took care of anyone that needed her.

When she wasn’t working or watching little ones, you could often find her frequenting yard sales or thrift shops when she was still able to get out. She loved spending as much time as possible with her family, but she always had to make it home before wrestling came on at night. Family beach trips and barbecues were her greatest pleasure.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, beloved sister, Jean and her infant grandson, Gavin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved sister, Elaine Scott and her children, Ronnie Graham, Glenn Cook Jr. (Jennifer), Vickie Miller (Wendle), and her eight grandchildren: Raven Graham (Connor), Tabitha Graham (Christian), Jeremy Cook (Wendy), Jasmin St. John (Corey), Braden Cook (Jessica), Alisha Cook (TJ), Kristy Peters, & Drew Miller. Colleen was also blessed over the years with an additional fifteen great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. She’s is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with their families.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sue Black officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 11-12 at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

The family will also be receiving guests at the home of Colleen’s daughter, Vickie after the funeral.
