IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn "Blondean"
Harrington
December 18, 1935 – February 13, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Evelyn Blondean Bennett Harrington, a
beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left us on February 13, 2026, leaving
behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering strength that will forever inspire
those who knew her.
Born on December 18, 1935, in Kannapolis, NC. Blondean was the daughter of Lemis H
Bennett and Ethel J Lundsford. Her passion for learning and giving was evident throughout
her life. She pursued her dreams with vigor and determination eventually working at the
UNC Charlotte. There, she was admired for her professionalism and kindness, forging
friendships that lasted a lifetime.
A pillar of her community, Blondean was a lifelong member of Kannapolis Church of God
and served as an organist for Elm Street Church of God. Her music brought comfort and joy
to many, and her faith was a guiding light in her life.
Above all, Blondean was a devoted mother to Ronnie, Darlene, Linda and Sherry. She
instilled in her children the values of honesty, kindness, and perseverance. Her nurturing
spirit and steadfast support shaped her family, and her children are a testament to her love.
She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren,
cherishing every moment spent with them. Her home was often filled with laughter, music,
and the warmth of family gatherings.
Her zest for life was reflected in her many hobbies. Blondean was an avid quilter, gardener,
reader, and musician. She found joy in creating beautiful quilts for her loved ones, tending
to her garden, and sharing her love of music with her family and church. Her children and
grandchildren fondly remember evenings spent listening to her play the organ, filling the
house with melodies and cherished memories.
The departure of Blondean leaves a void that cannot be filled. Her spirit and legacy will live
on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her family will honor her memory by carrying
forward the values she imparted and the love she shared so freely.
More than just a mother, Blondean was an inspiration, a guiding light, a source of wisdom
and a beacon of kindness. Her legacy endures, and she will be dearly missed by all who
had the honor of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace with our Lord and Savior.
