China Grove

Eric Lynn White, 69, of China Grove, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Born on January 1, 1956, in Iredell County, Eric proudly held the distinction of being the first baby born in the county that year. He was the cherished son of the late Everett White and Juanita Bostian White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca “Becky” White, and his brother, Ronnie White.

Eric was a man of simple pleasures and a generous heart—known for his ability to make a friend anywhere he went, his talent for fixing just about anything, and his contagious laughter. He loved heading to the beach in hopes of reeling in his next big catch, always finding peace on the water. A lifelong tinkerer, he spent countless hours in the garage working on Volkswagens and other projects, and he especially enjoyed showing off his prized chop-top bug at car shows.

Food was another source of joy for Eric. He loved sharing his catches at big fish fries with friends and family, firing up the grill, or enjoying a warm home-cooked meal—but more than the food itself, he treasured the fellowship that came with it.

Eric never passed up a yard sale or auction, always on the lookout for a hidden treasure or bargain. One of his greatest joys was traveling with his beloved wife, Charlene, with whom he created countless cherished memories.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Charlene Moose White; daughters, Erica White-Walters (Darin) and Melissa Gulledge; stepson, Zachary Tutterow (Atalia); grandchildren, Blake and Bryce White, and Tanner and Madalynn Gulledge; and his best friend and fishing buddy, Tim Lane.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Dayspring Community Church, 490 Lentz Rd, China Grove, NC 28023.
