Elijah Russell Nixon was born in Peoria, Illinois, to his parents, Matthew Nixon and Tara Barnette. He spent 21 years growing into the fun, unique, and loving person everyone knew him to be. For the past six months, he’d been living in Mooresville, North Carolina, starting a new chapter and finding his own path.
Elijah loved the things that made him him. He collected Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards like treasures and always had an eye on the latest Bitcoin trends, even if no one else could understand what he was talking about half the time. He was happiest just vibing to music, modding his Minecraft server, and diving into anything computer-related.
He also had his funny little quirks—like explaining Bitcoin as if everyone was automatically supposed to know what a “halving” was, or disappearing into his room for hours only to emerge with a completely redesigned Minecraft world he was very proud of. He had a way of turning everyday moments into something memorable, whether he meant to or not.
In addition to his parents, Elijah is survived by his brothers, Kegian Thurman, Matthew Barnette, Austin Nixon, Hunter Nixon, and Joshua Nixon; and grandparents, Richard Nixon, Teresa Nixon, David Barnette, and Mary Barnette.
