Dorothy Carol Smith Clifton

Dorothy Carol Smith Clifton, 87, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Kannapolis Health and Rehabilitation.

Dorothy was born September 7, 1938, in Custer County, Oklahoma to the late Martha Alice Harris Smith and the late John William Smith.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Margie Jean Smith and John Marvin Smith.

Survivors include husband of 55 years, Clyde Clifton of the home; children, Victoria Lynn Hand (Michael) of Cleveland, GA and John Michael Stewart (Addys) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Kimberly Williamson (Matthew) of Knoxville, TN, Kyle Clifton Hand of Cleveland, GA, Jake Stewart of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jordan Stewart of Florida, and Tiffany Dominguez (Javier) of Miami Beach, FL; and great-grandchildren, James, Sienna, and Maverick.

Dorothy will be remembered for her kind heart, creative spirit, and love for her family. She found joy in many hobbies throughout her life, including bowling in local leagues, sewing, gardening, and making crafts. Dorothy treasured the time she spent with her loved ones. One of her favorite family traditions was playing "Blitz," a card game that brought laughter, friendly competition, and countless cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
