Donald June Fink, age 84, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at Meadowbrook Health and Rehabilitation in Salisbury.
Born on July 22, 1941, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late William Oscar Fink and Maude Ella Bentley Fink.
Donald honorably served his country as a veteran of the Air Force, where he specialized in fuel management. He dedicated over 40 years of his professional life to Cannon Mills, from which he retired. A man of many interests, Donald had a passion for fishing and hunting for arrowheads. He enjoyed reading, spending time at the beach, watching "Jeopardy," working in his yard, doing puzzles, and playing guitar with friends. Known for his quiet demeanor and sharp wit, he possessed a remarkable memory and intelligent insight. In his later years, Donald embraced faith, opening his heart to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phylis Fink, as well as three brothers, Earl, Robert, and David Fink, and one sister, Bennie Burris, and one granddaughter Bethani Ridenhour Gallagher..
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Donna Wehunt (Billy) and Ramona Holman (David); six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Rogers Park Baptist Church, led by Joel Ervin and Roger Steadman. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nazareth Children’s Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
Donald’s kindness, humor, and intelligence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
