Dennis Neil Robinson, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the VA Hospice Unit of the W.G. Hefner Veteran’s Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Cabarrus County on August 4, 1949, to the late Marvin Neil Robinson and Beulah Jones Robinson.
Dennis graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1969. He was drafted into the United States Army, where he served for two years. Shortly after completing basic training, he was deployed to Vietnam as a Military Police Officer. Upon returning home, Dennis married the love of his life, Diann Hall, on December 26, 1971.
Dennis dedicated the majority of his career to law enforcement in Cabarrus County. He served for many years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Department before transitioning to the North Carolina Probation and Parole Division, from which he retired in 2011.
He was proud of his service and continued to stay deeply connected to those bonds, attending his Vietnam Veterans group and Law Enforcement meetings. Dennis enjoyed simple pleasures: riding up to the mountains for lunch and a fresh bag of apples, making daily/weekly phone calls to check in on friends and family, and most of all, bragging on his grandson. He was a very proud grandfather, and he never passed up the chance to share Zane’s accomplishments with others.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Diann; his daughter, Alisha (Curtis) Fleming; and his grandson, Zane Thomas Begley, all of Concord; his sister, Carol (Darrell) Allen of Hickory; his uncle, Robert Jones of California; along with other beloved relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several family members whom he loved and remembered dearly.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, from 1:30 PM until the time of service. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM, with Dr. Marty Payton officiating.
In place of flowers, contributions in his memory may be directed to the VA Hospice or the State Veterans Home both in Salisbury, NC, or to the Missions Fund of Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis.
