In Loving Memory of Dell Ray Pittmon (1957–2025)

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dell Ray Pittmon, beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on July 19, 2025 with his wife of 33 years Cindy Pittmon and son Steve Swann by his side, at the age of 68. Dell was born on July 18, 1957, in Concord, North Carolina, to the late Charlie and Barbara Pittmon.

Dell was a man who lived life with passion and purpose, and those who knew him best understood that his love for his family was boundless. While Dell’s spirit was often seen soaring through the open roads on his beloved motorcycle, it was his heart — one of the biggest and most giving — that truly defined him. Whether riding down a winding road or enjoying a peaceful day outdoors, Dell was always happiest when surrounded by the things he loved most: the freedom of the ride, a time to socialize with friends and most importantly, his family.

Dell volunteered a lot of his free time at the Kannapolis Moose Lodge #1722, where he was in his third presidency. Dell was proud to have earned his fellowship of honor two years ago with the lodge. He enjoyed working on projects and spending time with his friends at the lodge. If he was not with family or mowing yards, he would be at the lodge cooking, cleaning, and just enjoying being part of something bigger than himself.

Dell is survived by his loving wife Cindy Pittmon, his three sons, Steve Swann, (Wife Bethany Swann), Kevin and Andy Pittmon, his granddaughters, Addison and Morgan Swann, brother David Pittmon, nephew Tanner Pittmon and niece Skyler Pittmon, Uncle Mike Pittmon, Cousin Krystal Ruggieri along with many dear friends and extended family members.

A service will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis on July 23rd 2025 with visitation at 2pm, with service/graveside to follow at 3pm in Whitley’s chapel and Carolina Memorial Park.

We take solace in the knowledge that, even though his time with us was shorter than we could have ever hoped, Dell lived a life full of joy, adventure, and love.

Rest in peace, Dell Ray Pittmon. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Family request that if you have a classic car or motorcycle to drive to the service.
