Debra Lynn Smith Snead, 65, of Kannapolis, NC passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Debra was born on August 1, 1956 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late William Tommy Smith and Lois Smith Burns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-dad, Zane Robert Burns; brothers, Steven Franklin Smith, and Michael Smith; and a sister, Vickie Smith.

Debra worked as a spinner in various Hosiery Mills for over 20 years. She was a sweet, loving woman who loved to cook big meals for her family. She also enjoyed spending time outside gardening flowers and dancing to old country music. She collected angels and she had a special place in her heart for her beloved pet Chihuahuas.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Snead; son, Jamie Strube and wife Ruby; daughter, Crystal Burnette; four grandchildren, Tabatha Helms, Brittany Booth, Whitney Strube, and Matthew Poteat; great-grandchildren Jonathan and Braxton; and two sisters, Linda Davidson and husband Louie, and Rhonda Whittaker.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing.
