Darrell Carter

Timothy Darrell Carter, 64, of Rockwell, NC, passed away on January 9, 2023. Darrell was born in Waycross, GA, a son of the late Everett Gene Carter and Laverne Hall Carter Adkins. Darrell had worked many years as a corrugated box operator for Stone Container, later named West Rock. He loved fishing, football, and family. He was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan, and he could always be counted on to be ready for the game on Saturdays. Darrell was also a great handyman and loved fixing and tinkering with anything he could. By far, he was most known for always having a good joke to tell you or doing something unexpected to make those around him laugh. Darrell is survived by Patricia Carter; his 3 daughters Crystal Davis, Tricia Carter and Tiffany Carter; grandchildren Anthony Williams, Cassidy Davis, Mikayla Davis, and Travon Greene; brothers Gary Carter, Jimmy Carter and Phillip Carter; and sisters Teresa Clark and Deanna Williamson; along with numerous other relatives and friends that he loved dearly. In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his brother Gene Carter; sister Roxanne Carter; and cousin Junior Carter. His family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
