Clotilda Weddington Rodgers, 84, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Best of Care Assisted Living. She was born on August 30, 1941, to the late George and Beatrice Helms Weddington.
Clotilda was a proud graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She continued her education at Mars Hill College and Catawba College, pursuing her passion for learning and education before later earning her Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She began her career as a teacher at A.L. Brown High School, where she faithfully served students and the community until 1982.
Following her years in education, Clotilda moved to High Point where she founded About Face, Ltd., a premier cosmetics and day spa on Main Street. Through her business, she became a successful entrepreneur and built lasting relationships with countless customers who valued not only her expertise, but also her warmth, encouragement, and friendship.
Clotilda lived a life rooted in faith and service. She was a lifelong member of Elm Street Church of God, now Kannapolis Church of God, where she joyfully served the Lord through music, often playing the organ and singing. Her faith was evident in the way she lived—always striving to be the best she could be for the Lord Jesus and extending kindness to everyone who crossed her path.
She loved her community deeply and found great joy in serving others, whether through her church, her work, or the many friendships she nurtured throughout her life. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with those she loved.
In addition to her parents, Clotilda was preceded in death by her partner, Leon Oakley, and her grandson-in-law, Jordan Ball.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Derrick (Stacy) Rodgers and Dean Rodgers; eleven grandchildren, Caleb (Elizabeth) Rodgers, Candace Rodgers, Micha (Raven) Rodgers, Anna Ball, Kelsey (Tim) Rollet, Luke (Roxie) Rodgers, Breanna Brownlee, Hunter Rodgers, Jerad (Lisa) Rodgers, and Slade Rodgers; eleven great-grandchildren, Jedidiah, Jude, Celee, Tyler, Willa, Maya, Maverick, Ezekiel, Malachi, Preston, and Harper; one brother, Dale (Katherina) Weddington; Leon’s children, Bobby Oakley and Brad Oakley and their children; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Kannapolis Church of God, 2211 W. A Street in Kannapolis. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Greg Sloop officiating.
The burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 9, at Carolina Memorial Park.
Clotilda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and the many lives she touched through her love, generosity, and encouragement.
I lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kannapolis Church of God Youth Fund. Please put in memo: Youth, In Memory of Clotilda Rodgers.
