Christine Osborne Reid, 96, of Landis, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 at The Greens at Cabarrus.
Christine was born May 25th, 1927 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina to James and Irene Osborne. In addition to her parents,Christine was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years John J. Reid and by two of her children Yvonne Smith and Jim Reid.
Christine worked at Cannon Mills for five years and then worked at Goodnight Clothiers and Anderson Little. Christine was a beloved and talented seamstress in the area for over fifty years. Clients and friends always said she could fix anything and make it always look beautiful. Christine loved the color pink, the beach, canning and her pickles, flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a devoted member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church for over 75 years. She loved to serve in the children’s department, the nursery, and was a longtime member of the choir.
There will be a visitation Saturday, May 18th, 2024 beginning at 1pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 2pm with a graveside following.
Family left to cherish her memory are her son Gary Reid and wife Becky of Kannapolis, North Carolina and daughter Rhonda Rary of Landis, North Carolina. Son in law Darrell Smith of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Daughter in law Marilyn Reid of North August, South Carolina, her brother, Link Osborne and wife Imogene, of Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
Grandchildren Drew Reid of Aiken, South Carolina. Greg Reid and wife April of Savannah, Georgia. Christy Logan and husband Eric of Huntersville, North Carolina. Ashley Brittain and husband Jeff of Suffolk, Virginia. Heather Hawks and husband Chris of Hamlet, North Carolina. Carmen Brinson and husband Christopher of Concord, North Carolina. Jared Rary of China Grove, North Carolina. Lindsey Lowe and husband Garon of China Grove, North Carolina. Krista Jiunnies and husband Jeremy of North Augusta, South Carolina. Whitney Thompson and husband Casey of North Augusta, South Carolina. Christine was also the proud great grandmother of 21 great grandchildren.
