Charles “Mickey” Penninger, 83, of Kannapolis passed away, Tuesday October 11, 2022 at Tucker Hospice House.
Mickey was born December 25, 1938 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Claude Junius and Delphina Foil Penninger.
Mickey worked 40 years with Snyder Packaging, he enjoyed camping and square dancing, he spent time at Lake Junaluska for the United Methodist Conference where he was a head usher for years, he was also a volunteer at Enochville Fire and worked part time for the Rowan County EMS, he loved his three chihuahua’s “the boys”.
He was preceded in death by his parents his brother Dale and his wife Carolyn B. Penninger.
Those left to cherish his memory, his sisters; June Snyder & David, Dottie Simmons & Ralph, his children; Mike Penninger & Anna, Beth Parham & Henry, Charles Penninger & Sharon and Emily Cook and Jason. Eight grandchildren, Michala & Maggie Penninger, Lauren Brown & her husband Seth, Brandon Smith & his wife Kaitlynn, Preston Penninger & his wife Amanda, Payton Penninger and Chandler & Kayleigh Cook, also 5 great grandchildren, Samuel & Theodore Brown, Olivia & Georgia Smith and Graclynn Penninger.
The family will be having a Celebration of life Ceremony on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 3pm, followed by the service at 4pm.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to National Kidney Foundation.
