Charles David Mann, 83, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 16, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born on July 8, 1940 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Arthur Mann and Mary Jackson Mann.
Charles had a passion for music and was a very talented and gifted guitarist. He loved having Jam Sessions and enjoyed the fellowship with family and friends. He was an active and faithful member of Hunter Acres Baptist Church in Charlotte, where he served the Lord as a musician. He was also a member of Allen Graham Masonic Lodge #626.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Mann and Michael Cassidy; grandson, Blake Pope; great-granddaughter, Austin Smith; brother, Kenneth R. Mann; and a sister, Mona Dale Mann.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 34 years, Barbara Newell Mann; daughters, Amy “Shellie” (Jamie) O’ Daniel, Lynn (Les) Mueller, and Michelle (Steve) Mills; sons, Ray (Linda) Cassidy and Tim (Julie) Cassidy; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a nephew, Wayne (Jan) Mann.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Hunter Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Newell and Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hunter Acres Baptist Church, 4520 Heman Rd., Charlotte, NC 28269.
