Charles Conrad Hendrix

Charles Conrad Hendrix, 82, of Kannapolis passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by his four daughters and wife, Hazel, at his home.

He was born on March 26, 1943, in Mooresville, NC to the late Otis Bea Hendrix and the late Elsie Upright Whitman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Britt and brother, David Hendrix.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Hazel Hendrix of the home; daughters, Shari Wilhite of China Grove, NC, Teresa Harrison of China Grove, NC, Sharlene Winecoff of Kannapolis, NC, and Lynette Hendrix of Wilmington, NC – Lynette was his caretaker until the end; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Hendrix of California; sister, Glenda Jordan of China Grove, NC; and step-children, Tim Allman, Eric Allman, Chris Allman, and Angela Stanford.

Charles will be remembered as a warmhearted soul whose greatest joys were found in simple, meaningful moments. An avid fisherman and devoted NASCAR fan, he felt most at home in the outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the people he loved. Charles cherished time spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and the comfort of good company. His passion for cooking touched countless lives during his many years in the kitchen at local favorites including Landis Dairy Bar, T&F Barbeque, and Ellie’s to name a few. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 1:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The graveside service will immediately follow at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1350 S. Main Street, China Grove.

Family will be at the home of Shari and Teresa in China Grove after the funeral; all are welcome to visit and share memories.
