Charles Edward Cline, Sr., 72, of Kannapolis passed away March 1, 2023. He was born August 6, 1950 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Espie Ray Cline and Lola Ann Whitley Cline. He was also preceded by brother, Jimmy Ray Cline, sister, Phyllis Henry, son-in-law, Shane Box. His furbabies also preceded him, DottieTerry and Jax.

Charles had worked for Pillowtex/Cannon Mills for over 35 years in the distribution department.  Charles was a volunteer fireman with the Enochville Fire Dept. for 18 years. He served as Chief for 7 years. He graduated South Rowan High School Class of 1969.He loved watching wrestling, the Andy Griffith Show and football. He also loved picking up gumballs out of his yard. Charles was a loving, caring, giving man that helped his community throughout his lifetime.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tommy Fincher. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday, March 4th at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda, daughters, Cathy Yarbrough (Mike), Christy Box, son, Charles “Chuck” Cline, Jr. (Audra), 8 grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Lena, Chelsea, Morgan, Casey, Cailey, Cooper, 4 great grandchildren, Lydia, Vanna, Austin, Luka.
