Obituary: Cathy Rebecca Key Grooms, 64 of Salisbury, NC died at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Mrs. Grooms was born on October 22, 1952 in Cabarrus Co., daughter of the late Paul Hampton Key and the late Alice Mae Scarborough Key. In addition to her parents Cathy is preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Jackie and Wayne Key. Cathy adored her family and cherished her church family. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Grooms, three sons; Paul Grooms (Christy), Daniel Ramos and Miquel Ramos; a daughter, Jennifer Uriostegui, three grandchildren; Melanie Grooms, Noah Grooms and George Uriostegui. Mrs. Grooms is also survived by two sisters; Judy James and Barbara Dudley. The service for Mrs. Grooms will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, Aug. 4th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Robert Harrington with burial at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
