Catherine (Griggs) Freeze

Catherine Griggs Freeze, 87, of Rockwell, NC, died Saturday, August 27 at her daughter's home after a period of declining health.

She was born May 31, 1935 in Patrick SC, a daughter of the late John A. and Mary Jane Freeman Griggs. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by 4 husbands, Raymond Polson, Clifton Moser, Clyde B. Christy and Harold Freeze.

Catherine worked at W. S. Tyler in Salisbury until she retired in 1985

A funeral service to celebrate Catherine's life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 3 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel with Apostle Roberta Locklear officiating. Her family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her daughters; Mary Catherine Donahue, Renee Christy Tucker and Diane Moser Beaver and sons, Don and Gene Christy as well as 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as two step-daughters, Linda Gould and Brenda Schultz.
