Catherine Bruce

Catherine "Cathy" Mullis Bruce, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and compassionate nurse, passed away peacefully on December 23rd, 2024, after bravely battling cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, reflecting the deep connections she cultivated throughout her life.

Cathy was born on October 25th, 1967, in Cabarrus County, to Ronald Mullis and the late Margaret Day. Cathy's caring spirit led her to a meaningful career in nursing. Her kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues alike.

Cathy's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, a supportive mother and a proud grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

A cornerstone of her community, Cathy was admired for her generosity, warmth, and willingness to help others. Whether providing her nursing expertise, supporting friends, or simply sharing a kind word, she touched countless lives.

Even in the face of illness, Cathy's strength and grace were unwavering, inspiring everyone around her with her courage and positivity.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy of love and compassion will endure in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thad Bruce, her children Zachary Bruce (Lauren), Whitney Anderson & Kimberly Bolen (William); her five grandchildren Liam, Levi, Jensen, Maelyn & Spencer. 

A funeral service will be held on December 28th, 2024, at West Point Baptist Church of Kannapolis. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm and the funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. 

Cathy's light will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
