Obituary

Carolyn Stegall Lingerfelt met her Savior, Jesus Christ of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. She was in the arms of her loving, dedicated and loyal husband of 59 years, William {Roger} Lingerfelt and daughter, Lisa Lingerfelt Francis listening to How Great Thou Art and Come Jesus Come in her home along with our Primary Angels, Janna Davis and Sharon Pryor.

She loved spending time with her two beautiful granddaughters, Ashe and Grace Francis along with her late beloved pet, Beebe Joy and grand pets, Willow and Puppito. She enjoyed 88 wonderful years with her family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.

Carolyn was born on March 13th, 1938, and was a devout Christian her entire life. Her late parents Viola Setzer Stegall and Horace Johnson Stegall were founding members of Midway United Methodist Church where she gave her life to Christ. She married Roger in 1967 and became a member of Central Baptist Church where she loved to serve for 59 years.

She excelled in school, graduating from A.L. Brown in 1956 where she was a cheerleader, in Bible and DE Club, F.H.A, Associate President, Secretary, Monitor and Session House. Her Motto: “We make a living by what we get; but we make a life by what we give!”

With a God given talent for the creative arts, she enjoyed working in sales at Coulters’ Shoes, Brendle’s Jewelry Department and Belk Stores where she was also a live window model. Learning to sew from a young age, and working in Cannon Mills, Mom perfected her sewing skills and love of crafts. She opened Town & Country Cross Stitch & Crafts in 1975 on Centergrove Road. It was a place where she enjoyed her passion of arts, witnessed to others about Jesus Christ and supported her K-Town’s local commerce.

A lover of all things in God’s nature; gardening, flowers, birds, camping, beaches, mountains and traveling on new adventures with Roger’s late sister, Nellie Poole and her late husband, Elmer (Shorty) Poole for most of their retirement years.

We are grateful for Crystal Hill Combs' love and guidance. Our Secondary Angels, Tammy Harmon, Courtney Hunsucker, Carmen Ascencion, Alexis Trevino, Erica Yow, Michelle and Jimmy Gilreath, Larry Stegall, and Central Carolina Home Care. Her talented medical teams: Tina Barringer, Hospice Nurse, Dr. Hopper, Dr. Levy and the team at Hospice of Cabarrus, Autumn Care of Cornelius, The Landings of Cabarrus, PruittHealth Harrisburg, and Atrium Health Cabarrus. Celebration of Life Please wear bright colors as Carolyn loved God’s beautiful palettes. Arrangements: Whitley’s Funeral Home
