Obituary: Carol Mitchell Willett, 83, formerly of China Grove passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks where she was a resident. Mrs. Willett was born in Randolph County, NC on December 25, 1929 a daughter of the late Henry A. and Florence McClain Mitchell. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James E. (Jim) Willett Sr. who passed away in 2005, and a sister Marjorie Cloke. Mrs. Willett was formerly employed as a secretary at Cannon Mills. She was member of First United Methodist Church in China Grove. She enjoyed her yard, flowers and was a great cook. Mrs. Willett is survived by her son; Jim Willett Jr. and his wife Frieda of China Grove, a grandson Zack, and a granddaughter Katie, a sister; Doris Sowers of Durham, two brothers; Henry Mitchell and wife Helen of Raleigh, and Nathan Mitchell of Florida. Funeral services for Mrs. Willett will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel with Rev. George Yates officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. The family suggest memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 110 West Church St., China Grove, NC 28023. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
