Candy Jean Linker, 66, of Kannapolis, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House with family by her side. She was born on June 16, 1960, in Cabarrus County, to Jimmy and Peggy Bonds.
Candy married the love of her life, Douglas Linker, on May 5, 1978. They were married for 48 years and raised one daughter, Megan. Candy was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in 1978. Candy worked for the City of Kannapolis as a meter reader and other various jobs. She enjoyed going to the beach. Candy was most proud of spending all the time she could with her grandkids.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Doug Linker; her daughter Megan Phifer (George); her grandchildren, Kane and Raylee Phifer; her mother, Peggy Bonds; her sister, Wendy Wojciechowski (Steve); multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives and many beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Bonds and her sister, Penny Bonds Kemp.
A celebration of Candy’s life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Risen Life Church, 623 N. Juniper Avenue, Kannapolis, with Pastor Chris Messina officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives at 11:00 AM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
