Obituary

Bobby Lynn Davis, 85, of China Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Bobby was born on December 23, 1940, in Union County. He was a cherished son of the late Vance Davis and Jessie Nash Davis Lebetter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Gregory; granddaughter, April Fleming; great-granddaughter, Loxley Bowen; and brothers, Ted Davis and Tommy Davis.

Bobby was a retired carpenter and took pride in building things with his hands. He also had a deep passion for guns, working as a gunsmith, owning his own shop, and spending time at gun shows where he felt most at home.

Bobby found joy in the simple things, watching Western movies, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He loved cars, the excitement of the drag strip, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers.

Bobby also loved his dogs, Bandit and Sam, who were always by his side and meant the world to him.

Bobby will be remembered for his hardworking spirit and the way he connected with others through the things he loved.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Betty Jean Davis; brother, Curtis Davis; Daughters, Tracey (Jerry) Livengood, Tina Whitesides, Jackie (Michel) Stewart, Rebakah Gregory; sons, Michael (Shannon) Davis and Timothy Davis; grandchildren, Chase (Aubrey) Davis, Toree Davis, Selena Davis, Ashley (Alex) Shortall, Tiffany (Kenny) Bowen, Faith (Gabe) Fleming, Bradley (Sabrina) Northcutt, Ryan (Victoria) Northcutt; great-grandchildren, Addison, Joesphine, Trace, Lynleigh, Grayson, Ashlan, Bjorn, Mason, Blaze and Ava.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 3:00pm with Rev. Michael Edwards officiating.
