Bobby Vance Griffin, 86, of Kannapolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born on November 30, 1939, in Cabarrus County, to the late Henry Griffin and Josephine Birmingham Griffin.
Bobby Griffin was a devoted family man, a hardworking businessman, and a friend to everyone he met. A lifelong resident of Kannapolis, he proudly continued the family legacy as the owner of Griffin’s Food Center. After selling the store, he went on to spend 18 dedicated years with Frank Corriher’s Beef and Sausage, where he formed lasting friendships and became known for his steady work ethic and warm spirit.
Bobby had a deep love for the outdoors. An avid and skilled fisherman, he enjoyed time on the water as much as he enjoyed a quiet evening around a campfire. He loved spontaneous trips, whether to the beach, the mountains, or simply camping with family and friends. Some of his happiest memories were made at the family lot on High Rock Lake, where he spent weekends boating, skeet shooting, and watching his three daughters grow up surrounded by nature and laughter.
He found joy in the simple things—people watching, cooking over a fire, and being in the presence of good company. Above all, Bobby was known for his genuine kindness. He was sincerely happy for the successes of others and had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel welcome. Selfless and easygoing, he brought comfort, humor, and warmth to every gathering.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kim Moser and one great granddaughter, Madison Fink.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Jo (Jerry) Stirewalt and Gina (Jay) Golden; four grandchildren, Kenya Newton, Brooke (Patrick) Crudup, Tessa (Dylan) Aldridge and Clint Stirewalt; five great grandchildren, Alexis, Ceciley, Jazmin, Tinsley, Huntleigh and a great granddaughter on the way; one great great granddaughter, Azaria; his previous wife and best friend, Jean Griffin; other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Bobby will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am with Preacher James Strickland officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
Bobby’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared so freely.
