Bobby Gene Fowler, 86, of Mooresville, NC, passed away peacefully in the early hours of July 18, 2025, with his loving wife of 38 years, Bonnie Fowler, by his side. A man of unwavering faith, steady hands, and an open heart, Bobby lived a full life grounded in service to his family, his work, and his Lord.
Born on July 4, 1936, Bobby was a firecracker of determination from the start. He spent 45 years working at Pillowtex as a supervisor in the towel cutting department, a role he took great pride in until his retirement. His work ethic was unmatched, and even in retirement, Bobby was rarely still, always tinkering, helping others, or spending time outdoors.
Bobby was a devoted member of West Corinth Baptist Church, where his faith guided his every step. He spoke often of his love for the Lord and lived it out in how he treated others, with kindness, generosity, and a readiness to lend a hand.
Thrifting was one of Bobby’s favorite pastimes and he had a sharp eye for a good deal. He had a deep love for animals, and you would almost always find one of his beloved fur babies riding shotgun in his pickup. But more than anything, Bobby loved his family, and his greatest joy was time spent with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Fowler; his son, Jeff Fowler (wife Sheri); granddaughter Kaila Ashley (husband Tyler); great-grandson Jason Ashley; granddaughter Katrina Crabtree; and great-granddaughter Aubriana Crabtree. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Leazer (husband Jerry), and nephew Jake, as well as extended family and many cherished friends who will miss him dearly.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Sandy and Elizabeth Pearson Fowler; his son, Chris Fowler; his brother, Jackie Clayton Fowler; his sisters, Kay Johnson Fowler and Shirley Stottman Fowler; brother-in-law Harold Stottman; and half-siblings Mary Lou, Anne Marie, Edna M, Jesse Frank, and Baby Girl James.
Bobby’s life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering faith, and deep devotion. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and that his legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him.
