Bill Leon Zeigler, 85, of Harrisburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Bill was born on November 23, 1937 in Richmond County to the late L R Zeigler and Ploma Elizabeth Nowell Zeigler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Foster Zeigler, one grandson, and three great-grandchildren. Bill was the last out of 13 siblings.
Bill spent his career as a delivery driver and truck driver. Bill honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958. Bill was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church of Kannapolis. He was also a passionate member of the Gideons. Bill’s favorite saying over the years was “I see you in the morning.” Bill was ready for Heaven’s gate.
Those left to cherish his memory include two children, Bruce Zeigler and Donna Rumple, two granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
For those who wish to pay their respects, Bill will lie-in-state from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro, North Carolina.
