Betty Shue Jones

Obituary: Betty Ruth Shue Jones, 86, of Kannapolis, NC died July 21, 2017 at Big Elm Nursing and Retirement Center in Kannapolis. Betty was born in Cabarrus County on April 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Wesley Monroe Shue and the late Nellie Mae Lefler Shue. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lee Jones, Sr., a son, Floyd L. Jones, Jr. and a brother, Donald Monrow Shue. Mrs. Jones had worked for What-A-Burger for 24 years, later with Cannon Mills Co., plant 1, Sewing and Wash Dept. for 20 years and also worked part time at Shoney's and The Cabarrus County Country Club. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 29th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service at Whitley's. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mick Jones of Cherryville, NC, two sisters; Nancy Hinson of Union Co., NC and Peggy Hinson of Kannapolis, three grandchildren; Audra Jones of Calabash, NC, Brie Jones of Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas and Margaret Jones of Rock Hill, SC.
