Betty Hamm Gadd, 89, of Kannapolis, entered into eternal rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Sunday November 13, 2022 after a period of declining health. Born August 6, 1933, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late John Marvin and Pearl Hall Hamm.
Betty enjoyed shopping, going to church, her trips to the beauty salon and lunch afterwards. In her younger days, she loved baseball games, often hauling her son’s teams to their games in the back of their pickup truck. She also enjoyed the family beach trips. It is no secret how Betty loved and adored her grandchildren.
Her memory will be treasured by those she leaves behind including her three sons, Ronnie and wife Susan of Kannapolis, Roger and wife Michelle of Concord, and Nolan and wife Heather of Mount Pleasant; Eight grandchildren, Casey Gadd, Sam Gadd and wife Christine, Ross Gadd and wife Sarah, Madeline Messana and husband Michael, Olivia Thorton and husband Austin, Jessica and Avery Maulden, and Josh Gadd; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Love of China Grove; and a brother Tony Hamm of Concord.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence William “Jack” Gadd, Jr. and nine siblings.
A funeral service to honor Betty’s life will be held 2:00pm, Friday Nov. 18 at Crown Pointe Baptist Church, 703 Tennessee St., Kannapolis. Dr. Doug Crawley will officiate. Interment will immediately follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm, prior to the service at the church on Friday.
