Betty Smith Crook

Betty Smith Crook, 94 of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at her home.

She was born January 1, 1931 in Cabarrus Co. along with her twin brother Robert Smith to the late Moffit Smith and Minnie Keistler Smith.

Betty was the only daughter of eight children, she enjoyed going to the movies with her brothers growing up, She was a loving mother and wife, she was a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church for many years, where she belong to the women’s circle and enjoyed doing quilting and working on cookbooks and the fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Payne Crook in 2014, she was also preceded by five brothers; Garen, Robert, Merl, Elwood, and Kenneth Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory, her sons Dale Crook (Crystal) and Phillip Crook (Tamula), two brothers, John and Larry Smith, three grandchildren, Brittany Crook, Glenn Beckham and Jennifer Beckham, three great grandchildren, Talia and Tristan Cowan and Landyn Crook.

Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday July 2, 2025 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Katie Sloan and Alan Buckner officiating, burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at the church.
