Betty Cloninger, 95, formerly of Kannapolis, went home to be with her Lord on August 9, 2022, in Lakeland, FL. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and child of the King. Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, Herman and Catherine Seamon Miller; and her brothers and sister, Gordon, Roy and David Miller and Helen Ray. Her husband, Patrick and her daughter, Kay Bourque and husband Michael, along with her Grand-dog Buddy, remain with cherished memories.
Betty worked for many years at Cannon Mills and then went on to work at Atlantic American Properties after that. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis where she sang in the choir and was involved in the Senior Adult group. She ministered to shut-ins and those she knew received many a card and letter from her.
She loved the Lord and her husband and was a wonderful example of how a Godly woman should live. Betty recently celebrated her 74th wedding anniversary with Patrick.
Her family and friends will miss her, but we know that she is singing with the angels and we look forward with the knowledge that we will have a happy reunion with her one day.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17th from 1:00-2:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Cloninger will begin at 2:00 pm In the funeral home chapel, conducted by Dr. Tom Cabaniss. Following the service, Mrs. Cloninger will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
