Betsy "Jane" Cromer

Betsy “Jane” Scarboro Cromer, 100, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Jane was born on July 4, 1924 in Madison County, GA. She was a cherished daughter of the late Noah Webster Scarboro and Lissie Jane Campbell Scarboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joel Aaron Cromer; and son-in-law, Tim Gordon.

Jane was a beloved member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and just a little harmless cheating at cards. She was a devoted Braves fan, and a talented knitter.

More than anything, Jane cherished time with her family. Her kindness and warm presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Regina Gordon; grandchildren, Amber Thomas (Bryan) and Chris Gordon (Jessica); and 5 great-grandchildren, Allison Gordon, Bryleigh Gordon, Teagan Gordon, Cole Thomas, and Easton Thomas. Jane was also blessed with many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Dennis Craft officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
