A proud graduate of the first class at Northwest Cabarrus High School, Beth furthered her education with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from UNC Charlotte. She dedicated 25 wonderful years to teaching first grade at Harrisburg Elementary, where she touched the lives of many young students.
As a lifelong member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Beth was actively involved in church committees and taught Sunday school. Together with her husband, John McLain, they generously contributed to their community by volunteering with Meals on Wheels for over a decade.
Beth had a passion for baking, and cooking delicious meals she found joy in gardening, delighting in planting flowers and embracing the beauty of nature. A memorable highlight of her life was her trip to Ireland in 2017, as well as her love for the beach. Above all, she treasured being a grandmother and cherished every moment spent with her granddaughter, Emory.
Beth is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, John McLain; her daughter, Courtney McLain Erwin, and son-in-law, Zachary; her granddaughter, Emory Erwin; her sister-in-law, Becky Reid, and brother-in-law, Gary; and her dear friend, Jill Rosser.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Cynthia Nanney and Rev. Wesley Judy. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church.
