Belinda Starnes Dunlap, 79, of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Atrium Health-Cabarrus in Concord, after a lengthy illness.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis officiated by Pastor David Franks. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery, 601 Mt. Olivet Rd., Kannapolis.

Born May 15, 1947, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Andy Taft Starnes and Carrie Mae Hartsell Starnes.

She was the dedicated wife of the late Charles Ray Dunlap. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked for Cannon Mills Co. for more than 30 years as a weaver. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and sister.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of the PCU of Atrium Health for their care for Belinda during her last 24 hours.

In addition, she was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers as well as her grandson Zachary Tyler Dunlap.

Survivors include her three sons, Charles Wayne Dunlap and wife, Stephanie, of Conway, SC, Gary Lynn Dunlap and wife, Angy, of Charlotte, and Ricky Dale Dunlap and wife, Tina of China Grove; grandchildren, Cody, Matthew, Holly, and Jordan, and eight great-grandchildren.
