Anthony "Tony" Richard Witt

Hi Anthony “Tony” Richard Witt, 58, of Concord, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2025.

Tony was born on October 1, 1966 in Wisconsin. He was a cherished son of Jo Anne Salgado-Basting and the late Richard Walter Witt. In addition to his stepfather, Jack Basting and father he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Lund Witt.

Tony grew up with racing in his blood. That passion led him to a fulfilling career as a NASCAR mechanic, where he had the privilege of working with many teams over the years. NASCAR wasn’t just a job it was a calling. The people he worked with meant the world to him and became a second family.

Tony could often be found riding with his beloved motorcycle community, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, which he never missed a game, listening to his favorite music, or spending time with his dogs. He also found comfort in his faith, attending Barstool Church in Huntersville, NC.

Tony had a strong spirit and a tender heart. He was someone who could truly smile with his eyes.

Above all, he loved his family fiercely and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Dalton Witt (Kadyn Parrish) and Tyler Witt (Rene); mother, Jo Anne Salgado; brothers, Todd Witt and Jon Witt (Winnie); nephews, Noah and Anthony; niece, Alia; and his companion, Kathy Schiske-Nearhood . Tony was also blessed with a wonderful NASCAR work family and motorcycle community that meant so much to him.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am- 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
