Anthony “Shane” Flynn, 67, of China Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026. 

Shane was born on September 27, 1958, in Munich Germany. He was a cherished son of the late Donald L. Flynn Sr. and Doris Jane Barr Flynn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald “Joey” L. Flynn Jr. 

Shane was a proud father who found great joy in coaching his son’s baseball teams and sharing his love of sports. A lifelong sports fan, he especially loved football, along with spending time golfing and fishing whenever he could. Some of his favorite memories were vacations with his wife Cindy, filled with laughter, adventure, and togetherness. 

He will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports, and the positive impact he had on those he cared for. Shane will be truly missed by all who knew him. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Cindy Smith Flynn; sons, Joshuah Flynn (Camila) and Jason Flynn (Victoria Santizo); grandchildren, Kylan, Harper, Remi, Myllena, Rogelia, Italia, and Elani; sister, Melissa Sauer (Gary); Shane was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and friends. 

A special thank you to family and friends who surrounded them with support and love during the past two years. Shane and Cindy love you all very much.
