Annie Deal Elledge

Obituary: Annie Lee Deal Elledge, 86, of China Grove went to Heaven on Friday, July 21, 2017 from Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 23 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Haithcock and Rev. Trent Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the funeral. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Becky Stirewalt in China Grove. Annie was born September 20, 1930 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late Elmer H. and Estelle Adams Deal. Annie was also preceded in death by her infant brother, Charles Deal and her sister, Mary Cavin. She graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible College. Annie was a member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church. She was active in CYC, Sunday School, Bible School, visitation ministry and the Best Years Fellowship. Annie worked for many years as a nurse's assistant in various hospitals, retiring from NorthEast Medical Center in 1995, after 16 years of service. She enjoyed staying active with her grandchildren, going to the beach, nature walks and Traveling. She always loved the flower her husband picked for her each day. Annie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family, but most importantly, Annie loved God. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 60 years, Bryce H. Elledge, her daughters, Becky E. Stirewalt (Dale) of China Grove and Martha E. Matheny (Al) of Bamberg, SC, her son, Bryce "Dean" Elledge (Mary) of Charlotte. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth Shirey, Cassondra Stirewalt, Monica Trotter and George Elledge, 2 great-grandchildren Zach and Caitlin Shirey and her sister Bea Price of Winston Salem.
