Obituary: Annie Frauline Gordon Deese, 85, passed away Thursday evening, August 3, 2017 at the Brian Center in Concord, following a period of declining health. Born August 7, 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Fate and Emma Jane Taylor Gordon. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Charles H. Deese; a daughter, Brenda Benton; her sister, Rosa Lee Woolridge, and a granddaughter, Keisha Faggert. Mrs. Deese had lived in Kannapolis since 1950 and was a devoted and loving homemaker. She had attended Faith Baptist Church for more than 60 years. A wonderful cook, she had published 4 cookbooks and had a weekly column in the food section of the Daily Independent and South Rowan Times for several years. Mrs. Deese will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Family members left with cherished memories include her daughters Renee Crisco of Charlotte and Charlene Deese of Salisbury; her son Jerry Kevin Deese of Kannapolis; her brother David Gordon of Mt. Croghan, SC; and 5 grandchildren. A graveside service to remember and celebrate Mrs. Deese's life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 6th at Lakeland Memorial Gardens in Monroe, NC, conducted by Pastor James Pauley.
