Andrea Salazar Hernandez

Andrea Salazar Hernandez, 29, of Kannapolis, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Mexico on August 14, 1996, to Jose Alfredo Salazar De Leon and Maria De Lourdes Salazar.

Andrea attended Winecoff School and graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 2014. She worked at various retail stores as a manager. Andrea loved spending time with her family, especially her young daughter Reyna. She enjoyed dancing, watching movies and playing video games with her brothers. She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Concord.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Reyna J. Michel; her parents, Jose Salazar De Leon and Maria De Lourdes Salazar; her brothers, Jose A. Salazar (Mayra Martinez) and Leonardo D. Salazar; her maternal grandmother, Maria De Los Angeles; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Fernando Hernandez and her paternal grandparents, Agustin Salazar and Magdalena De Leon.

Visitation for Andrea will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Ave. SW, Concord, NC 28025. Burial will be in Saint James Catholic Cemetery.
