Aline Plyler Walker, 100, passed away on January 13, 2026, at Autumn Care of Cornelius, after a period of declining health.
She was born September 28, 1925, in Kannapolis, the daughter of the late John Grover Plyler and Josephine Templeton Plyler. Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Walker, Sr. and her brother, Howard Plyler.
She was a 1942 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School. A devoted Christian, she was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis since 1936. She participated in the Ruth Kale Sunday School Class. After graduating high school, she worked in the Payroll Department of Cannon Mills until retirement. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with family.
She is survived by her son Neal Walker (Ann) of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Kevin (Deanna) Walker of Denver, NC and Jennifer Walker of Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren, Addison and Silas Walker; and niece, Shelby Miles of Kannapolis, NC.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. – 12:45 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Whitley's Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Aline’s life will follow on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Jim Watford. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Road, Kannapolis.
Memorial donations can be made in her name to Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cadence Assisted Living Center – Mooresville for their loving and compassionate care in the last years of her life.
