Ada S. Fink Sims, 84, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Liberty Commons in Salisbury.
Ada was born on July 12, 1938 in Cabarrus County. She was the cherished only child of the late William Edward Fink and Ethel Riddle Blackwelder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Gary Allen Sims Sr., and son, Gary Allen Sims Jr.
Ada spent her career as a bank teller and then later worked for Hallmark Homes as a secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Concord. Ada enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. She had a passion for animals and had many pets throughout her life. Ada was a very good cook. Her specialty was chicken tetrazzini and banana pudding. She loved riding motorcycles with her husband, Gary. It filled her heart with joy to watch her son play football and baseball as he grew up. Ada loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Donna Sims; two grandchildren, Chrissy (Marshall) Braden and Katie (Vince) Ewell; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Archer Ewell; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Sims.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 -4:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
