Rose Marie (McLeod) Funderburke

     Rose McLeod Funderburke,71, peacefully passed away Monday afternoon, September 30, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House.

Born August 27, 1948 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Rose was a daughter of the late William and Nellie Victoria Bishop McLeod.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Funderburke; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Mrs. Funderburke had been a 23 year loyal employee of Cannon Mills, where she had worked in the dye department.  A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Mrs. Funderburke will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, James Steven Funderburke; her sons, James Funderburke, Jr. (Debbie) and Tom Funderburke (Dena); 4 brothers; a sister; 2 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A special thank you to all of Mrs. Funderburke’s Bingo friends at the Concord VFW.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Funderburke’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC  28207.

Private services and burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.
