Ora Lee (Harrington) Hannah

Ora Lee Harrington Hannah, 104, of Kannapolis, passed away, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Morningside of Concord.

She was born November 20, 1914 in Alexander Co. to the late Augustus Harrington and Bessie Teague Harrington Heglar.

Ora Lee started working at Cannon Mills at age 14 retiring 51 years later in 1979. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, and of Eastern Star #168.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Hannah, her siblings Charlie Harrington, Rev. Ray Harrington, Claude Harrington, Hall Harrington, Ned Harrington, and Helen Bowman.

Those left to cherish her memory, two sisters, Wrenn Rhodes, and Beauford Swift of Kannapolis, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  

She will be fondly remembered for the many family gatherings at her home where she made her love known through her delicious cooking.  Having no children of her ow, her tireless devotion to her siblings and extended family was beyond compare.  If anyone needed anything, Ora Lee was there to help without fail.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 15 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris O’Guin officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Morningside of Concord for the love and care given to Mrs. Hannah over the past months.
