Melba (Leitch) White Pearson

Melba Leitch White Pearson, 86, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health.

She was born March 16, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Etta Spears Leitch.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin White on March 14, 1990 and her second husband, Joe Pearson, Sr. on May 31, 2010. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Vernon, Dewey and Arthur Lee Leitch.

Melba attended Cannon High School and was a charter member of Skyland Baptist Church.

She was employed at Terry Products for 39 years until her retirement in 1996.

The highlight of her life was having her family for lunch on Sundays.

She is survived by a son, Randy Eugene White (Susan) of Kannapolis and a daughter Teresa White Hopkins (Michael) of Kannapolis, six grandchildren; Matthew (Cheri) Hopkins, Timothy (Kelly) Hopkins, Christopher (Stephanie) Hopkins, Caroline Hopkins, Taylor White and Fiance’ Justin, and Brett White.

She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and a niece, Linda Wilson of Albemarle.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Skyland Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dennis Morgan. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 P.M. until 2;00 P.M. prior to the service.
